Jim Czekner is an experienced developer and operator of payment platforms with over 30 years of experience in the industry. His tenure as CTO of EVO Payments stands out as a crowning achievement, where he significantly contributed to the company's growth and technological advancements. Additionally, his role as President of Transaction Payment Systems, an EVO subsidiary, further solidified his reputation as a leader in the payments sector.

Promoted to President in August 2025, Jim also serves as Echelon’s Chief Technology Officer—a dual role that reflects his impact and leadership across the organization. Since joining Echelon in May 2023, Jim has brought a philosophy rooted in “quality and capacity” across both technology and human systems. As President, he works to architect a stronger, more scalable platform while overseeing Echelon’s technology and operational infrastructure. His goal is to provide best-in-class services to sales partners and merchants, ensuring high retention and satisfaction rates.

Under his leadership, Echelon has achieved the highest levels of security and compliance, including PCI DSS, SOC 2, and other key standards, creating a regulatory and operational framework that supports sustainable expansion.

Prior to his tenure at EVO Payments International, Jim founded Maverick Data Systems, where he designed and developed the FrontEndWare transaction processing technology, which supports credit, debit, EBT, private label, gift, and loyalty card processing. Jim also co-founded Meta Section, a consulting firm specializing in engineering and due diligence services for payments and fintech companies.
